Board of Directors

Mort Collins Ph.D., Chairman of the Board

Dr. Collins has more than 40 years of venture capital investment, fund management and exit experience. 

In 1968, Dr. Collins founded and was the Chief Executive Officer of Data Science Ventures (“DSV”).  Over his career at DSV, Dr. Collins served as a founder and Managing General Partner of four funds at DSV and invested in over 60 companies, of which 17 are currently operating companies, 35 have completed Initial Public Offerings and 44 have been acquired by larger companies in M&A transactions, including Tandem Computer, Intersil, The Liposome Company, First Data Corp., Datapoint and Kopin Corp.  

In 2003, Dr. Collins founded and became the Managing General Partner of Battelle Ventures. Battelle Ventures -- and its affiliate fund, Innovation Valley Partners (“BV/IVP”) – has US$255 million under management and is an early-stage, high-technology venture firm focused on technologies developed at Battelle Memorial Institute and the National Laboratories in the U.S. managed by Battelle.

Dr. Collins is a former President, Director and Chairman of the National Venture Capital Association and has served on the New Jersey Governor's Commission on Science and Technology; the New Jersey Governor’s Superconductivity Roundtable and is a Member of the Research Roundtable of the National Academy of Sciences.  He also chaired U.S. President Ronald Reagan’s Task Force on Innovation and Entrepreneurship and served as a technology policy advisor to U.S. President George H. W. Bush.  He earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Delaware and his Master of Arts and Doctorate Degrees in Engineering from Princeton University.

Martin Inglis Board Director

Mr. Inglis currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Battelle Memorial Institute.

Mr. Inglis joined Battelle after a 32-year distinguished career with the Ford Motor Company. During his tenure at Ford, he held several key positions including: Chief Financial Officer-Group Vice President, Head-Ford North America and Corporate Vice President, President-Ford South America and Corporate Vice President, Head-Global Product, Business Strategy and Corporate Vice President and , most recently, as Group Vice President-Business Strategy. In addition, he also held posts in Ford Lio Ho-Taiwan and Ford Europe-Essex, England.

Mr. Inglis earned his B.A. in Business Economics (with honors) from Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Scotland. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Alliance for Sustainable Energy, LLC; Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC; Battelle Energy Alliance, LLC; and the Carpenter Technology Corporation, a NYSE-listed leading manufacturer and distributor of specialist alloys and engineered products. Mr. Inglis also is on the Advisory Boards of three venture capital companies: Fletcher-Spaght Ventures, L.C., Reservoir Venture Partners, and Battelle Ventures. He also is a member of The Conference Board Council of CFOs and is the Chairman of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra Board of Trustees.

Glenn Kline President & Chief Executive Officer

Glenn has more than 23 years of experience in venture capital investing, fund management, technology commercialization and working with high technology growth companies.  Prior to founding 360ip, Glenn was a General Partner at BV/IVP.  He also served as managing partner at Academy Funds (“Academy”), an early-stage venture-capital firm that he co-founded to focus on commercializing and spinning out technology from major research institutions.

During his tenure with BV/IVP and Academy, Glenn led investments in approximately 30 portfolio companies, which included start-ups in the areas of advanced materials, cleantech, information technology, life sciences and semiconductors.

Glenn holds an MBA in finance from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA in Los Angeles, CA, and a BA in international relations from Pomona College in Claremont, CA. Glenn also completed coursework at Sophia University, while living in Tokyo, Japan.

Jeffrey Wadsworth Ph.D., Board Director

Dr. Wadsworth currently serves as the President and CEO at Battelle.

Prior to becoming President and CEO, Dr. Wadsworth served as Battelle’s Executive Vice President of Global Laboratory Operations where he was responsible for Battelle’s global laboratory business, including the management or co-management of six United States’ Department of Energy (DOE) laboratories (Brookhaven National Laboratory, Idaho National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory) and the Department of Homeland Security’s National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center, with combined research revenues exceeding US$3.2 billion and more than 16,000 staff. Dr. Wadsworth also oversaw the expansion of Battelle’s operations into India, Japan, Korea and Malaysia.

Dr. Wadsworth was previously the Laboratory Director at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and the President and CEO of UT-Battelle, LLC, the company managing the operations at ORNL. In this capacity, he was responsible for the management of the DOE’s largest multipurpose science and energy laboratory, with 4,100 staff members and an annual budget of more than US$1 billion. Under his leadership, ORNL commissioned the largest civilian science facility in the United States, the US$1.4 billion Spallation Neutron Source; the launch of DOE’s first nanoscale science research center, the Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences; the development of the world’s most powerful unclassified computer system; significant growth in national security programs; and the initiation of an interdisciplinary bioenergy program.

Dr. Wadsworth has also held various leadership positions at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, the Lockheed Missiles and Space Company and Stanford University.

Dr. Wadsworth earned a B. Met, D. Met and Ph.D. from Sheffield University, England; is a member of various national and international societies, including the National Academy of Engineering; has received a number of awards and honors, including the 2009 National Materials Advancement Award, Federation of Materials Societies; and serves on the boards of several corporate, civic and education organizations.

Glenn Kline President & Chief Executive Officer

Asashi Fujimori Senior Vice President, Japan & Investments

Asashi has 20 years of experience in investments and financial management. Prior to joining 360ip, Asashi led cross border investment activity between the US and Japan as Director of Growth & Cross Border Investment Group at Development Bank of Japan. He developed an investment pipeline when he worked at the Los Angeles representative office and succeeded in building DBJ’s initial private equity portfolio in the US as a lead investor. A number of his investments have gone on to have successful IPOs in the marketplace.

Asashi has pioneered emerging segments of financial markets in Japan to develop new business opportunities for both Japanese and foreign investors. His achievements are not only in the cross border investments and corporate finance, but also in structured finance, including project financing and asset financing to various projects in Japan.

Asashi previously worked for the Electronics Policy Division, Ministry of International Trade and Industry.

Asashi graduated with Bachelor of Economics Degree from Yokohama National University.

Robert Quinn Battelle Program Director

Bob serves as the primary liaison between 360ip and Battelle. With over 25 years of experience in technology management and commercialization, Bob brings senior leadership to Battelle, 360ip and 360ip’s Research Partners. Bob was previously the Director of Technology Commercialization at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), leading the organization responsible for all intellectual property management, licensing and company spinout creation within the Laboratory. He managed a portfolio of over 850 issued patents, almost 500 pending patents and over 100 licenses. Prior to joining ORNL, Bob held a series of executive positions with Battelle including Vice President for Technology Commercialization, where he led the launch of spinout companies; Vice President for International Operations, where he directed strategy development and implementation for business conducted in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Mexico; and Vice President for Environmental Systems Planning and Management, where he headed a $150M business area. He previously held management positions at the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Bob received a BA (Phi Beta Kappa) from Rutgers University and an MA (Exxon Graduate Fellow) from The George Washington University. He also completed the Joint Executive Management Program at the Stanford School of Business/National University of Singapore.

Ed Kenney Vice President, Commercialization

Ed has over 30 years’ experience in intellectual property management and technology licensing. Prior to joining 360ip, Ed was President of Tactical Licensing Inc. and a principle in Science Advancement Group LLC both intellectual property commercialization consulting companies with worldwide clients ranging from public sector universities and government laboratories to private sector small and large companies. Ed’s consulting practice specialized in marketing and negotiating license agreements on behalf of his clients.

Prior to his consulting companies, Ed was President of the University of Toronto Innovations Foundation, the technology transfer company owed by the University of Toronto. He led the group to profitability ahead of plan, managed the most successful licensing project in the University’s history and served on the Board Of Directors of one of the University’s most profitable start-up companies. He has also held intellectual property management positions with Arthur D. Little Enterprises and Occidental Petroleum

Ed holds a Bachelor of Science Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University, Boston, MA and an MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Kent Liu Vice President, Finance

Kent brings both finance and operational expertise to his role at 360ip. Before joining 360ip, Kent worked for EA Mobile, a division of Electronic Arts (EA), where he was the General Manager for the Asia and India regions. In this role, he directed the development of the India studio and the company’s Asian operations. While he was at EA Mobile, Kent also worked as the Director of Finance, responsible for worldwide Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) for the mobile group. Prior to EA, Kent was the Director of Finance for JAMDAT Mobile, where he worked on transactions in excess of $1B, including the company’s initial public offering (NASD: JMDT) and the all-cash sale of the company to EA for $680M. At JAMDAT, Kent also had responsibility for financial and strategic planning for the 500+ person worldwide organization. Prior to JAMDAT, he held operational roles at Federal Express, Montgomery Ward and Babystyle. Kent holds a BS with high honors in industrial & systems engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA in finance and entrepreneurship from the Anderson School at UCLA.

Young Kim Vice President, Korea & Investments

Young brings both investment and operational expertise to his role at 360ip.

Prior to joining 360ip, Young was the Vice President at the Galleon Group where he analyzed and managed Asia technology investments which generated outstanding results. Before his role as an investor, Young worked at WaveMarket, a wireless location-based services (LBS) start-up, as the Director of Business Development, Asia Pacific. He successfully led the company’s first few commercialization activities of its proprietary technology platform products at prominent telecom operators in Asia. Prior to WaveMarket, Young was the Project Manager and Software Engineer at Bluefire Systems and developed and launched a proprietary category management system which generated highly effective results at the largest U.S. retailer. Prior to Bluefire Systems, Young served as a Software Engineer at Teradyne.

Young holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, a Masters of Engineering in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a B.S. in Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is fluent in Korean and English and conversational in Japanese.

Zhaohong Li Vice President, China & Investments

With nearly 18 years of experience, Zhaohong has worked in fund management, investment banking, and high-tech industries in USA, China, Switzerland and UK. Based in Switzerland and Hong Kong, he had raised PE and hedge funds and developed business for Man Group plc, the world’s largest listed hedge fund manager and a FTSE 100 company. In addition, he has significant experience in high tech industries in US and China, with experience founding and managing high-tech start-ups.

Before joining 360ip, Zhaohong worked as assistant to CEO and a managing director overseeing the investment team for Bank of China Group Investments Zheshang Investment Fund Management Ltd which manages a RMB 2 billion PE fund. He also worked for investment banks including Credit Suisse, Daiwa, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley in New York, London and Hong Kong, in various capacities including equity research, cross-border M&A advisor, sales and trading, and summer interns.

Zhaohong earned a Bachelor of Science with Honor in engineering and applied sciences from the California Institute of Technology and a Master of Management from the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University. He also attended Tsinghua University in Beijing and London Business School where he received Lord Inchcape Asian Business Award.

Chul-woo “CW” Kim Head – 360ip Korea

CW has more than 20 years of experience in fund management, venture capital investing and technology transfer in Korea.

CW’s experiences include being a Vice President at Mirae Asset Management, one of the largest asset management investors in emerging market equities, in the venture investment division.  At Mirae, he focused on venture investments, fund management and fund raising.  In addition, CW spent 10 years at KTB, a leading investor in Korea.  He also was the head of the Korea Technology Transfer Center, an organization focused on tech transfer, technology evaluation and M&A activities. 

CW earned a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Mechancial Engineering from Korea University.
