360ip has a strong management team with extensive experience in the identification, commercialization and monetization of technology. The robust skill set of the 360ip team encompasses “best in class” expertise in technology monetization, including licensing, venture capital investment and fund management. The 360ip team has a strong experience in evaluating and transforming technology into high-value commercial assets to capitalize on market opportunities and generate returns:

  • Dr. Jeffrey Wadsworth — Prime Minister
    • Dr. Wadsworth most recently served as President and CEO of Battelle Memorial Institute.  Dr. Wadsworth formerly led Battelle’s Global Laboratory Operations, where he oversaw the management or co-management of six national laboratories of the U.S. Department of Energy. He also led the expansion of Battelle’s operations into the United Kingdom, China, Japan, Korea, and India. Prior to leading Battelle’s Global Laboratory Operations, Jeff served as director of Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the U.S. Department of Energy’s largest multipurpose science laboratory. Jeff’s background also includes positions at Stanford University, Lockheed Missiles and Space Company, and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.His many honors and awards include six honorary doctorates, two honorary professorships from Chinese universities, the 2013 Acta Materialia Award in Materials and Society, the 2015 National Engineering Award from the American Association of Engineering Societies, and election to the rank of Fellow of three technical societies. He has also been elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering and the Chinese Academy of Engineering.Jeff received his bachelor’s degree, Ph.D., and Doctor of Metallurgy from Sheffield University, where he also received the highest recognition conferred by the university, an honorary Doctor of Engineering degree. Jeff is a Trustee and former Chair of Trustees at The Ohio State University and serves on numerous boards.
  • Dr. Aristides (Ari) Patrinos – Technology Minister
    • Dr. Patrinos has served as the President and as Senior Vice President for Corporate Affairs at Synthetic Genomics. He joined Synthetic Genomics from the US Department of Energy (DOE)’s Office of Science, where he served as Director of the Office of Biological and Environmental Research. As part of his leadership of the Human Genome Project, Dr. Patrinos helped create the DOE’s Joint Genome Institute (JGI) and the design and launch of the DOE’s Genomes to Life Program, a research program dedicated to developing technologies to use microbes for innovative solutions to energy and environmental challenges. He was one of the original architects of the U.S. Global Change Research Program (USGCRP). He is the recipient of numerous award and honorary degrees including three Presidential Rank Awards and two Secretary of Energy Gold Medals, as well as an honorary doctorate from the National Technical University of Athens. Dr. Patrinos is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and American Meteorological Society. Dr. Patrinos received his undergraduate degree from the National Technical University of Athens his PhD in Mechanical Engineering and Astronautical Sciences from Northwestern University.
  • Dr. Jonq-Min Liu – Materials Minister
    • Dr. Liu most recently served as Chairman of the Industrial Technology Investment Corporation, the investment organization of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (“ITRI”), one of the largest research institutions in Greater China and the birthplace of such leading technology companies as TSMC. He has also served as ITRI President as well as ITRI Executive Vice President and Vice President and General Director of Material and Chemical Research Laboratories.  Dr. Liu’s expertise in multidisciplinary cooperation and material science led him to several other professional leadership roles, including the former President of the Chemical Society and Polymer Society and Materials Research Society (MRS-T) located in Taiwan. Dr. Liu received Ph.D. and M.S. in Chemistry from Columbia University and his B.S. in Chemistry from National Tsing Hua University.
  • Dr. Tariq Ali – Cleantech & Quantum Minister
    • Dr. Ali is the Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor for strategic partnerships at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom (UK) and is a member of the management board of the UK Quantum Technology Hub for Sensors and Metrology. He is also a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Grantham Institute for Climate Change & Environment, Imperial College London. Previously, Dr Ali was based in Singapore as the Executive Director of Envision ALR, a technology development company, and has worked in Abu Dhabi as the Director of Technology, Knowledge & Partnerships at Masdar City, an initiative to create a sustainable city in Abu Dhabi, and as the Vice President for Research & Industry Relations at the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, established in partnership with M.I.T. Prior to Masdar, Dr. Ali was the Director of the Energy and Environment Office and a research scientist at Imperial College London. Dr. Ali has also served on the UK Renewables Advisory Board and the Singapore British Business Council. He is an elected Fellow, Trustee and on the Governing Council of the Institute of Physics and a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society. Dr. Ali received his BSc in Astronomy from the University College London, MSc in Astronomical Technology from the University of Edinburgh and PhD DIC Astrophysics from Imperial College London.
  • Glenn Kline President & CEO
      • Glenn has over 30 years of experience investing in high technology companies, fund management, technology/IP commercialization and working with high technology growth companies. Prior to co-founding 360ip, Glenn was a General Partner at Battelle Ventures/Innovation Valley Partners. He also served as managing partner at Academy Funds (“Academy”), an early-stage venture-capital firm that he co-founded to focus on commercializing and monetizing technologies from major U.S. research institutions. During his tenure with Battelle Ventures/Innovation Valley Partners and Academy, Glenn led investments in high technology growth companies in a variety of sectors, including advanced materials, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, cleantech, ICT and medical/health. Glenn holds an MBA in finance from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA in Los Angeles, CA, and a BA in international relations from Pomona College in Claremont, CA. Glenn also completed coursework at Sophia University, while living in Tokyo, Japan.
    • Boh Soon LIM Managing Director
      • Boh Soon has more than 30 years of investment and technology experience. Prior to joining 360ip, Boh Soon was the CEO of the Kuwait Finance House in Singapore, the CEO of Vietcombank Fund Management Company in Vietnam — where he established several investment funds — and served in various senior management positions at UBS Capital Asia, Singapore Technologies Group and Rothschild Ventures Asia. Boh Soon received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Strathclyde. He is a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Directors, and is currently an Independent Director on the board of 5 publicly-listed companies in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
    • David Chou
      Senior Vice President (Greater China)
      • David has approximately 20 years of experience in fund management and venture capital investing in Asia, with a focus on Greater China. He has completed 30+ cross border transactions encompassing venture capital and private equity investment, merger and acquisition, fund-raising & IPO, and business facilitations. Prior to joining 360ip, David worked in several investment and fund management positions, including as a General Partner of the Integral Investment Group, a Managing Director and CFO of CEY Capitals Management, and a Fund Manager at Transpac Capital. He also held positions in Hong Kong for ING Barings and Banque Indosuez Group covering Greater China markets.David currently also serves as the Managing Director and Secretary General for the Financial Executives Institute (FEI), a platform for CFOs, CEOs and financial executives/professionals. A member institute of International Association of Financial Executives Institutes (IAFEI), FEI has close relationships with China Association of CFOs (CACFO), with 30,000+ CFO members. Under David’s leadership, FEI and CACFO have co-hosted Cross-Strait CFO Forums in China and Taiwan.He also serves as the Chairman of the Economic & Financial Commission of Council for Industrial & Commercial Development (CICD), an elite organization of 2,300+ business leaders whose businesses in total represent US$ 250 billion. David received his MBA from Columbia University and his BA from the National Taiwan University.
    • Ed Kenney
      Vice President, Commercialization
      • Ed has over 30 years’ experience in intellectual property management and technology licensing. Prior to joining 360ip, Ed was President of Tactical Licensing Inc. and a principle in Science Advancement Group LLC both intellectual property commercialization consulting companies with worldwide clients ranging from public sector universities and government laboratories to private sector small and large companies. Ed’s consulting practice specialized in marketing and negotiating license agreements on behalf of his clients.Prior to his consulting companies, Ed was President of the University of Toronto Innovations Foundation, the technology transfer company owed by the University of Toronto. He led the group to profitability ahead of plan, managed the most successful licensing project in the University’s history and served on the Board Of Directors of one of the University’s most profitable start-up companies. He has also held intellectual property management positions with Arthur D. Little Enterprises and Occidental Petroleum. Ed holds a Bachelor of Science Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University, Boston, MA and an MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
    • Asashi Fujimori
      Head – 360ip Japan
      • Asashi has 20 years of experience in investments and financial management. Prior to joining 360ip, Asashi led cross border investment activity between the US and Japan as Director of Growth & Cross Border Investment Group at Development Bank of Japan. He developed an investment pipeline when he worked at the Los Angeles representative office and succeeded in building DBJ’s initial private equity portfolio in the US as a lead investor. A number of his investments have gone on to have successful IPOs in the marketplace.Asashi has pioneered emerging segments of financial markets in Japan to develop new business opportunities for both Japanese and foreign investors. His achievements are not only in the cross border investments and corporate finance, but also in structured finance, including project financing and asset financing to various projects in Japan.Asashi graduated with Bachelor of Economics Degree from Yokohama National University.
    • Yusuke Oku
      Investment Director (Japan)
      • Yusuke has over 15 years of experience in venture capital investment and fund management in Japan, Greater China Region and Southeast Asia. Prior to joining 360ip, he was an investment manager at Japan Asia Investment Co., Ltd., where he worked in Tokyo, Singapore and Shanghai and led investments in healthcare, ICT, and other industries in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. He graduated with a MS of Engineering in Biotechnology and Life Sciences from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology.
    • Alex Yang — Director
      • Alex has more than 10 years of investment experience across North America and the Greater China region. Prior to joining 360ip, he served as a Principal for a merchant bank focused on tech and consumer investments for a consortium of family offices and institutional investors. Alex has also worked in various capacities with McKinsey & Co., Silver Lake Partners, CDH Funds, and CDIB across New York, San Francisco, Hong Kong, and Taipei. Alex received a BS in Finance from Wharton Business School and a BA in Arts & Sciences from the University of Pennsylvania.
    • Jason Lee
      Venture Partner (Korea)
      • Jason has had more than 20 years of technology investment experience. Prior to joining 360ip, Jason was the Team Lead of the Venture Capital Group at Cheil Worldwide (a subsidiary of the Samsung Group), where he established and managed a dedicated fund for investing in promising technology companies. Previously, Jason was the General Manager of LS Corporation’s Strategic Planning and Business Development Group, where he evaluated potential investment opportunities and fund investments, and an Investment Principal at LB Investments, where he completed and exited several international portfolio companies. Jason started his career in research at Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics. He earned his MS and BS in Electrical Engineering at KAIST.
    • Kenji Yamamoto — Finance Director
      • Kenji has ~10 years of experience in investment management, finance and accounting. Prior to joining 360ip, Kenji served as Deputy General Manager of the investment division for an international mining/materials company based in Hong Kong. Prior to that position, Kenji worked at KPMG in various capacities, including in the M&A Advisory Group. He started his career as a co-founder and of a startup in Japan leading sales & marketing and finance functions. Kenji graduated from the University of Tokyo in Energy Engineering and received his MBA from INSEAD and is a Certified Public Accountant.
    • Hettiarachchi Suresh
      PhD, Technology Commercialization Manager
      • Suresh has over 15 years of international experience in technology investments, R&D, project management and technology commercialization. He has specialized skills in AI, robotics and digital transformation and has served in executive positions in Australia, Sri Lanka and Japan, including as with TSE-listed corporation. Suresh obtained Bachelors’ degrees from the University of Colombo (Sri Lanka) and Manchester Metropolitan University (UK) and earned his MS and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Tokyo.
  • Andrew Dougherty
    Investment/Commercialization Manager
    • Andrew has over 10 years’ experience in technology investment and commercialization. Previous to joining 360ip, Andrew worked for a national venture capital fund, assisting in developing financial models, business plans and market strategies. He has also worked with several growth companies in multiple industries as well as with the board of directors of numerous portfolio companies on product development, sales management, public relations and corporate strategy. Andrew received his MBA in Finance from the University of Tennessee and his BSM from Tulane University.
